{16 Weeks!}

After taking too much Tylenol I decided to go to the hospital to check to make sure everything with the baby was ok. Which it was but I am just not going to be satisfied until this baby is breathing out in the world on his/her own! This week I have been SUPER sick with a high fever and major cough, which turned out to be Bronchitis. I can not believe that I am (1) almost halfway through this pregnancy and (2) I have been sick THE WHOLE pregnancy! I purchase my first few maternity outfits a couple days ago. I do not need to wear maternity clothing yet, as my current clothing still fits, but it would have been silly to purchase non-maternity clothing that will only fit for a few more weeks. I can feel my lower belly/abdomen firming up where the baby must be but only myself and Dr. Gramann (who knows what he is feeling for) can really feel it. I keep having Victor feel the upper part of my belly saying, "see this is the jelly part of the belly :) and down here is the firmer part, can you feel it?" The first few times he couldn't now he says he can, but I am not sure if he is just telling me that so I will shut up or if he really feels it?! I did comment to the doctor about it making sure I wasn't crazy but he confirmed I am still sane:)!

Cravings: Nothing outstanding that I can remember

Aversions: Nothing?! I guess when it comes to food I can say I am pretty lucky, nothing has really made me sick from the thought of food or smells but I guess when you are sick with a cold for 4 months straight you get to be lucky one way or the other :)!

Baby Colin:At 4 1/2 inches long (head to bottom) and 3 1/2 ounces, your baby is about the size of an avocado. In the next three weeks, she'll go through a tremendous growth spurt, though, doubling her weight and adding inches to her length. Her lower limbs are much more developed now. Her head is more erect than it has been, and her eyes have moved toward the front of her head. Your baby's ears are close to their final position, too. Some of her more advanced body systems are working, including her circulatory system and urinary tract. Her heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, circulating her total blood volume through her body many times. (By the end of your pregnancy, this will increase to about 190 quarts.) The patterning of her scalp has begun, though her hair isn't recognizable yet. Although closed, her eyes are moving (slowly), and she's even started growing toenails.
